Vojvodina – a Pannonian idyll

Vojvodina is a province in the northern part of Serbia, mostly consisting of a plain and fertile agricultural land. It is part of the Pannonian Plain, and the Danube, Tisa and Sava are major rivers running through the region; geographically it belongs to Central Europe.

An interesting geographical position makes Vojvodina a connection between Western Europe, the Balkans and the East. This is a region of exceptional natural beauty and rich culinary tradition.

Vojvodina is a densely populated and demographically diverse region, with exceptional economic and cultural prosperity. A vast meditative landscape here meets rich cultural and historical heritage.

The pictures which dominate Vojvodina - golden fields, hunting and fishing, native plants and indigenous animal species, various food and music festivals, numerous castles, fortresses, monasteries and remains of Roman civilization - also influence the gastronomic culture.
